Designed for Modern Homes
In response to increasingly smaller living spaces, Ferm Living's founding partner and creative director, Trine Anderson, stated, "Small spaces simply require new solutions and this goes for children's accessories as well." The Toro Play Kitchen is designed to blend seamlessly into adult home decor, avoiding the often-cluttered look associated with children's toys. Its neutral tones and minimalist aesthetic allow it to be placed anywhere in the home without compromising the overall interior design.
Features and Materials
The Toro Play Kitchen is constructed from natural plywood, featuring a functional sink with a tap, two hot plates for imaginative cooking, and three hooks for hanging utensils. Below the countertop and above the sink, there are dedicated storage shelves. The knobs, tap, and stove details are crafted from lightly toned solid beech wood, providing a subtle contrast and enhancing the kitchen's refined appearance. Ferm Living emphasizes that the Nordic-inspired design and its utilities, combined with the gender-neutral color palette, encourage both boys and girls to engage in creative play and culinary adventures.
Addressing Toy Clutter
The brand acknowledges that children's toys and accessories are often known for taking up significant space and can clash with home aesthetics. The Toro Play Kitchen offers a solution by providing a durable, engaging, and visually harmonious addition to a child's play area, fitting perfectly into the contemporary trend of designing products for compact dwellings.
